The first thing we did in San Diego was contact a friend we met when we toured Morocco. We agreed to have lunch at Brigantine Oyster Bar on Harbor Drive. She warned us about the limited parking, however, we opted to find a lot cheaper than the $20 valet fee charged by the restaurant. I should add that we are driving a 6-passenger Jeep Grand Cherokee. Needless to say, we got trapped in a parking lot where my son had to get out of the car and direct Jenna from a very tight spot. She had inches between our car and the ones that were parked. After safely exiting, we gladly paid the valet fee.
Lunch with Barbara was great. It was so good to see her again and be able to catch up.

Sunset Cliffs Natural Park
Our next stop was Sunset Cliffs in the Point Loma community. Dedicated in 1983 as a regional park, it is a favorite with joggers, nature lovers, and even the birds enjoy staring out to sea. We walked along the cliffs enjoying the cool ocean breezes and zen-like atmosphere. Then as I was sitting on one of the benches out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone jump into the ocean. He popped up and quickly climbed back up the cliff. As sunset approached, more people arrived armed with cameras ready to capture the sunset.

Balboa Park: ComicCon Museum
Open to the public in November 2021, the museum celebrates comics and related popular arts. In the short 2 years since it opened the museum has featured over 11 exhibits ranging from Gene Roddenberry [Sci-Fi visionary] Pac Man Arcade, Archies, to the current exhibit dedicated to Stan Lee and Marvel Comics.
Comic-Con began in 1970 when a group of comics, movie & science fiction fans gathered together to put on the first convention. It has grown from the original 300 attendees to becoming an international phenomenon.
Steve and I did the scavenger hunt, where we had to identify objects hidden in the exhibits. Our prize was a 3-D photo of “The Flash”. Our last stop was the gift shop and surprise Steve got his first pin of the trip. All in all a great time, so worth a visit.

Loved the little piece of history about the Comic-con ❤️
